Personality and Pinholes

OK, I am being very lax in posting... so little time, so much to do.

Inview of this, today, I have cheated. I have stolen this entry, right out of the pages of Miss Understood, seemed like a good plan, on account of the fact that I have a zillion and one photos to edit and nearly as much work left to do on my exam!

The idea is a Personality test. Why don't you all have a go too? Click here and see what sort of personality you have, you might surprise yourself!!! I did.

If you roll over the coloured squares, it tells you a bit about me, how I think, how I see the world and my strengths and weaknesses!!!! Believe any of it you like, just ignore the red bit!!! It's not true, least not on any day of the week with a 'y' in it!

In my hurry to get back to what I should really be doing, I'm gonna leave you with a couple of the pinholes I developed last week.

These are a couple of exposures I have made as part of my exam material:

Ali, I can't stop laughing!
Go on, ask me why?
Well...I scrolled over your colours, nodding my head in agreement, then had a fit of giggles at the end. It seems we have something in common. We both cry like babies while simultaneously dressing like retards!

hahahahahaa!!!

The pics are fantastic. I especially like the first one - it's so moody.(Is that the right word?) You're gonna sail through this exam. x

I like the first photo too. Not that I don't like the others you understand.

Miss U ~ HaHaHa, we might cry like a baby and dress like retards, but our very high empathy means we always have a understanding friend close by to lean on!!!!!

.... oh hang on.. maybe that's a dual personality!!!! lol

Without trying to be big headed, I know I will pass the exam, by my 'pain in the ass' personality trait that always expects the very best will only be happy with an 'A' grade... fingers crossed, exam time starts tomorrow night. x

Mike ~ hahahaha, you must be getting to know me!!! If you hadn't mentioned that second bit I would have asked you what was up with them!!!!

Hey Ali, take a look at a picture I took of my two kids and my niece on the HMS Warrior in Portsmouth. I messed around with it in Photoshop quite a bit then sent it off to be enlarged, framed etc and now it's hanging on my living room wall. You being into photography I'd really value your opinion.

Oh and be careful what you say, I'm a bit touchy lol.

Ali said...

Mike ~ Oh Wow! What a fantastic photograph. I'm not sure if the 'movement' blur was intentionally shot of if you added it in Photoshop, but I LOVE it, it really works.

The kids look so tiny in comparison to the ship that it really conveys a feeling of magnificent, powerful vessel, and the moody skies and motion blur almost have you believing that the ship is at sea in rough weather.

Before I started photography, I assumed, like a lot of people, that a picture which was anything less than crisp and clear was a bad one, but it's so not true, some photos need it to portray the feeling, and this is definitely one of those.

Well done you, it's awesome. Keep up the good work.

Oh...lolol, I was online when the photo link came in and replied straight away... now I see you second comment about being careful!!!!

Mike - it's shite!!! What were you thinking???

Just kiddin'
x

Mike said...

I'm stubborn, if you told me it was shite I wouldn't believe you lol.

I blurred it in Photoshop to draw the eye towards the kids. Glad you liked it.

Look at me here, talking about my pics on YOUR blog. How rude. Let's talk about yours instead :) x

Ali said...

Mike ~ hahahaha, just as well it wasn't shite then!!!! I'm happy to talk about your photo's on my site, I just love seeing other people's work.

I'm gonna be cheeky now, would you mind if I printed that off and used it in my sketch book as part of my research for my exam? It has just the perspective I need, and it's so creative I would love to include it.

OK, that's enough, if I massage your ego any more y_u_ h_a_ w_l_ e_p_l_d_!!!!!!!!

Sure you can, no problem.

Miss U ~ Don't tell Mike, but it's nowhere near as awesome as your Ripples in the Sand photo you sent me honey!! Sshhhh!! x

Ali, awesome photos!

I took the personality test but it told me that I should come back after I get some personality.

That's bad right?

Ali said...

Dan ~ Thanks honey. Now then, about this personality... I just know you have one tucked away there somewhere. Where should I look for it? Or, maybe you could get one down the second hand shop.

Mike said...

I tried the personality test but after 3 pages, realising there was another 8 to go I gave up.

Ali said...

Mike ~ That was the test to see if you had any stamina and/or attention to detail,(it did tell you up front how long it would take!!!).

So, no attention to detail, no stamina but MUCH better things to do than sit and take silly tests!!! So it's not all bad!!

And besides... you take awesome photos... and you have motorbikes... what more could you want???

Wow! You're realling getting some amazing images out of your camera! What did you make yours out of? Are you exposing onto film or directly onto paper?

Ali said...

Brow ~ Thanks sweetie. My tutor said you get to know your camera after a while, he was right. Am learning the best exposure times for the different light settings etc. It is just a beat up old tin with a lid, and I am exposing directly onto paper, tray processing for control, and then I digitised the negatives.

I am loving it. Am really gonna have to see about setting a little area aside at home, just big enough for me and 3 trays of chemicals!!!

You have an eye for talent ... or a talent with your eyes!! none the less you have a talent for wonderful pitures.. I love them all.

Ali said...

Indigo ~ Why thankyou. I have really missed the pinhole work since my course finished. I don't have the set up at home for processing yet, really should sort that out.

Thanks for stopping and commenting.
