These shots are from the top of the 'White Cliffs of Dover' over-looking the harbour.
I took the photo's because of the striking contrast between the stormy clouds and the serene calmness of the sea; two of my favourite things to view when I have a camera in my hand.

Like you, I too could sit for hours and gaze at such a lovely view. I often do so when out on the beach with Wilma! Yesterday I was reading the names on the boats, fascinating!
Nice shots. It gives me the sense of calmness, but a little nippy. Now I know what "White Cliffs of Dover" look like.
Great cloud formation Ali - sky is so important in a photo isn't it. It's been ages since I saw those cliffs. I used to drive to the continent a lot because you see so much more but I've given in to airlines now.

The photos have turned out really well. The sky looks fantastic. I've sailed out of there more than a few times over the years.

David ~ I agree, it is so easy to photograph the obvious isn't it. The second image, although difficult to see unless you click on it, has the mast and radar on the top of the hill from the Coastguard station. In the other direction, behind my position is a lighthouse, also tempting, but this is the shot I wanted.
