Bins and Boreds

I'm bored as hell. Stuck at home, 'resting' on doctors orders, trying to recover from a 'viral' infection. Most days I am just too knackered to sit here for more than half an hour and have let the housework slip!

I thought yesterday, I would donate a couple of hours to it during the morning and see how I felt later in the day... big mistake! Anyhow, whilst tackling my kitchen floor, I moved my waste bin into the hallway to leave the floor clear for washing. As I placed the bin down the reflection of the hardwood floor caught my eye. The bin is stainless steel, and was nice and shiny 'cos I had just cleaned it. The floorboards reflections were warped around the circular bin and it fascinated me... told you I was bored!!

See how bored I was, I even placed it in different spots and directions, which completely changed the reflected image!

Are you bored too yet? No?

Well today, as I came back from the path lab (don't ask, more vampires), there were a group of little sparrows feeding on the lawn infront of the patio doors, I couldn't resist taking some shots of them.

Only a fellow blogger would understand the thought of not only taking a photo of your waste bin & floor, but sharing it with the world where people like me leave a comment! LOL!
I COOKED DINNER LAST Saturday and hubby said "Are you taking a photo or can I eat it now?"

LOL!

I loved your bin pics. It takes a creative mind and a good eye to see the potential. And it breaks the boredom

Love the reflections. That kind of thing amuses me for ages, with or without a camera! Simple things for a simple mind ....

Hope your on the mend and that your firing on all cylinders soon. x

Denise ~ LMAO at your hubby's comments. Your right, only a fellow blogger would understand..lol

Akelamalu ~ Thank you for the hug, all such kindnesses are greatly received! ;p)

Max-e ~ Thank you for your input. I was just strangely drawn to them, I'm glad I do not appear to be alone!!! lol

Ellie ~ A girl after my own heart! I could have played for ages with that bin!!!! I quite liked the photo's in colour too, but the wood looked more like mahogany than oak, so I converted them to black and white, think it works well with the stainless steel

Got to hand it to boredom, once in a while something creative comes out of it. I think I like the middle one best, but there's something mind warping about the last one. It makes me want to tilt my head side ways and laugh a little at the oblong shape. Nice shots!

Kristi ~ I almost posted these on the landscape orientation. That's how I first saw them on the computer, and I kinda liked them.

It is the sign of an active imagination that something as ostensibly mundane as a waste bin can be used to produce something so creative.
I hope you are soon feeling much better , have a great weekend.

Pauline ~ My active imagination is sometimes a hinderance.. like when I want to go to sleep at night!!! lol.

Am of to London tomorrow to see a show, so even if I am totally cream crackered Sunday, it will be worth it!

I remember sitting for hours last year, and taking pictures of my room (and me) reflected in the Xmas baubles. Little things, Ali...little things, lol.

I really hope you start feeling better soon. I don't want to be coming here next week to be confronted with reflections in a shiny toilet seat :)

Hugs. x

No absolutely not boring at all. I think in fact you have the/an artists eye or we're both cuckoo, because I find the shapes alluring, I really do.
When something catches your imagination there has got to be more to it than meets the eye, and there is because you feel it, so go with the flow babe- keep it up.

Laney ~ Reflections in xmas baubles is another one I have tried...lol I will save you from any toilet reflections!!! :o)

Paddy ~ Aww thx sweetie. There was definitely something mesmorising about the array of patterns the reflections made, I just had to share them. Everyone here has made me realise that it was not 'madness'!!!

Ruth ~ The birds are sweet with the seed in their beaks aren't they.
