"A hug is a perfect gift - one size fits all and nobody minds if you give it back." -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are a few of the photo's from last weeks wedding shoot, as promised. As you can see, the shots at the reception, in very low light, leave a lot to be desired, but it was the beginning of a very steep learning curve for me!!
I love the shoes. And I love the last one...the composition is fantastic. Lighting is easily rectified Ali, you know that. But it just goes to show that you have an eye for a perfect shot. Weddings can quite easily all look the same, unless the person behind the camera can capture something unique. You've done that....well done!!!!
KML ~ Thx very much. I didn't get as many good shots as I would have liked, but it was not bad for my first attempt
Miss U ~ Thx Laney, you're a sweetheart. That last shot was caught very quickly. I looked up and her bridesmaid was wiping something from her face. When she realised I'd snapped it she explained "I'd been Nan'd" lol.. what she meant was that her Nan had left lipstick across her cheek!!
Photowannabe ~ Candid shots are the one's I really enjoy, just capturing a natural, uninitiated shot. I have to admit though, that the shoe shot was stolen. I did plenty of research before the day on the way others shoot weddings, and I loved the arrangement of the shoes, so I stole it!!! lol
I'd hate to be a wedding photographer. It's not so bad with digital I suppose but with 35mm you wouldn't have a clue how good your pics were until they'd been developed. What if none of them came out? Doesn't bare thinking about.
Ellie ~ The shoe shot seems to be a popular choice, and I agree, they never get seen under the dress do they, I hadn't thought of it like that.
Mike ~ Thx honey. OMG, could you imagine doing it on 35mm film!!! Just the thought of it.... agghhh.
DFP ~ There's PLENTY of post processing let me tell you!!!
George ~ For the service, which wasn't too well lit I used my 50mm f1.8, great, fast lens. However, in order to capture some candid shots in the evening I used a longer lens, unfortunately it is only f4-5.6.... I knew it would struggle. Thx for the comment though, I am always up for good advice.
You took some great shots. Well done, can't wait till next year when the weddings will be in full swing, you will be fully booked and if not i want to know why??

Akelamalu ~ I'm coming over for a look.
Wonderful work Ali. The shoes are a perfect and different shot. I like the candi ones too. She really is a tiny one isn't she?

Well done Ali, I knew you'd nail it!
Pauline ~ Aww, thx honey. I have a lot more that I wouldn't dare to show though!!!
Excellent job. I agree the shoe picture is a brilliant idea ... they cost a fortune and are never seen, why not photograph them!
Top photos Ali, they're all great.

Great job. Shooting in low light is always an adventure. Sometimes post-processing can help with an adjustment of the brightness/contrast/levels.
Excellent shots ... I especially like the shoe shot and never mind stealing it ... you were creatively inspired.
Go for a faster lens, it'll help a lot
