In search of an 'F' photograph
The sun shone today, about time, so I decided that whilst G was playing golf I would take my camera on a little trip out. My mind has been trying to come up with something for next Wednesday's "F is for..." post, so off I went in the hope that I would find some suitable, interesting photographic opportunity to fulfill it.
5 minutes away from my first destination, the beach (where else), I remembered that I already had a plan for 'F', told you I had a bad memory!!! Not one to miss an opportunity to photograph anything that moves, and everything that doesn't, I continued on my quest anyway.
These are a few of the shots that I took, some of which I could have used for Wednesdays post! I hope you enjoy.

I love the seagull pics Ali. And the fishermen too.
Today, I am actually attempting to take some photos. My battery charger is knackered but Mum has one, so the camera is going for Sunday lunch too.
Wish me luck!
Exceptional photos. I've never managed to capture a bird in flight. Still trying to think what to do for my "F" post...wish I hadn't challenged myself NOT to do flowers or insects!!!
Great pictures Ali. :)
Some great pics and good choice of using b/w for the fishing photos.
ali, lovely pics, especially the seagull.
B & C is for Brilliant C for class: 1st. 3rd. 4th. are my pick. You've got to get an exhibition together...you've got talent.
Y;-) Paddy
Miss U ~ Thank feck for that, I thought you were never gonna get round to it!!! So.... we can expect great things on Wednesday then? :o)
Ruth ~ Thx honey, I did enjoy my time out yesterday. Every week I spend about 5 days wondering what to do, and one day to capture it!!! But I do love a challenge!
Akelamalu ~ Thanks
Michael ~ I like those in B&W much better, I'm glad you agree with the choice. Had a hard time trying to decide on the right cropping for those two, I think I pulled it off!?!?
Pauline ~ Again, thx. It is sometimes quite scary putting your work up here!!!
Paddy ~ Awww, what praise. I wish I was good enough to put an exhibition together. One day, I will be, but I still have a lot to learn.
Lady B ~ I do have a flikr account, but I don't upload many. My blog photos are usually added straight from my PC.
I too have been thinking of F for Wenesday...have plans for H..but still thinkingof F.
Dx
Denise ~ it's great isn't it.. lol... my mind works overtime every week until I have a theme sorted!!
Whilst out with my camera today, I shot 'G is for...' too, so I am on a roll. :o)
The cropping is excellent, they would look great printed 12x12. I used to use a 2.25" square medium format camera. Get the composition right in the square format as you have and they look brilliant.
Call them vermin of the sky but I absolutely love seagulls. Years ago I took up paragliding and from there I went on to get my sailplane solo licence. One thing you learn when flying is to take notice of birds. Seagulls are fantastic soarers gliding effortlessly on rising air currents on the windward side of hills. Across countryside gliders rely primarily on thermals, rising pockets of warmer air that eventually cool creating cumulus cloud. As a pilot you need to recognise a building cumulus cloud as opposed to a dying cloud. It's not always obvious. This is were one of the greatest birds on the planet comes in useful...... the beautiful Buzzard..... a master of of surfing the skies.
I've been to the pub and think I might be going off on one..... What was I talking about again?
Ah yes, your pictures..... fantastic, bloody fantastic.... especially the first two.
BTW, I have my F sorted.... Did it in the dark you know :)
Forgot to mention my g string will soon be making an appearance and there'll also be a bit of monkey business.
Also..... your comments of "fishermen at work" and finished fishing" would definitely work better the other way round...... maybe.
Michael ~ I have to admit that I do like the square format, but you're right, is it incredibly difficult to get the crop just right. Thx for your input.
Mike ~ Not just vermin, we call them sky rats, and they are. I love nature, birds and animals, but I make an exception for the seagull. We had some nesting in between our chimney pots last year and one of the babies fell off the roof into the back garden. Mummy seagull held me prisoner in my own fecking house. Seriously. I couldnt even hang the washing out cos she was so fecking vicious and tried to attack me. So you admire away, but I will never warm to them.
Mike ~ Exactly how many did you have down the pub??? lol... you have more rabbit than Sainsbury's tonight!!!
So you got 'flame' for your 'F', and I already saw your G-string didn't I!!!!! Very impressive it was too. All you girls out there, be patient, F this Wednesday, then next Wednesday, Mike is releasing the awesome photo he took of his G-String!!! Believe me when I say, it is WELL worth waiting for!!! Oh yeah!
I have my 'F' not only photographed, but the post is written too!!! How's that for organised? I also have 'G' which I coincidentally got to shoot today whilst I was out! :D)
Wow Lots of good F photographs!
